Professor Dr. Qais Saeed Al-Sabbagh is a distinguished academic and one of the leading figures in the field of Electrical Engineering. Born in Baghdad on September 12, 1946, he earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bristol, United Kingdom, in 1986. In recognition of his outstanding academic achievements and contributions to higher education, he was awarded the rank of Professor on April 9, 1996.
Throughout his distinguished career, Professor Al-Sabbagh has accumulated extensive experience in both higher education and academic administration. He has held numerous leadership positions within Iraq and abroad, including serving as Head of several engineering departments at the University of Baghdad and the University of Technology, as well as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Ibb University in Yemen. He has also chaired and participated in a wide range of scientific, academic, and advisory committees at the levels of the Ministry of Higher Education and Iraqi universities.
Professor Al-Sabbagh has made significant contributions to postgraduate education and research. He has supervised 21 master's theses and 3 doctoral dissertations, and has participated in the examination of more than 150 postgraduate theses and dissertations. His scholarly record includes nearly 50 research publications in national and international academic journals and conferences.
In addition to his academic achievements, Professor Al-Sabbagh has played a prominent role in consultancy and engineering practice, contributing to numerous major projects involving electrical system design for educational institutions, infrastructure developments, and public service facilities.
