The Academic Promotions Department's Responsibilities:

Receiving Academic Promotion Applications

The department receives promotion applications from colleges or institutes and ensures that they meet the requirements.


Auditing Applications

This includes verifying the academic research, its originality, compliance with publication standards, the number of required research papers, the number of years of service, and other requirements.


Corresponding with Academic Reviewers

Research papers are sent to academic reviewers specialized in the researcher's field to assess the quality and originality of the research.


Submitting Applications to the Central Academic Promotions Committee

After the evaluation is completed, the application is presented to the Academic Committee for the appropriate decision (approval, rejection, or modification).


Documenting Promotion Decisions

Issuing official letters of promotion and informing relevant university authorities, as well as updating academic files.


Following up on ministerial instructions and updates

The department follows up on new instructions from the Ministry of Higher Education and circulates them to colleges and departments.

General Conditions for Promotion:

A sufficient number of solid published research papers must be available.


A specific number of years in the current degree.


Participation in academic activities such as supervising graduate students, discussions, conferences, etc.


Scientific integrity and the absence of plagiarism.
